A Youth Misspent Wandering the Road of Romance

In naïveté, I stumbled blind,
Bumbling through romances.
In unworldliness, I failed to see
Seeming signs of affection.
In greenness, I missed chances
Courting much wiser women.
In ignorance, I fumbled about,
Wooing the wrong types.
In foolishness, I ignored omens
Warning of unhealthy obsession.
In innocence, I wandered awry,
Tumbling into eventual heartache.
In honesty, I considered giving up
Finding a sane significant other.
In happenstance, I ended up
Dating the proper life partner.
In hindsight, I’ve realized now
How much of a naïf I was.
