I tried to lead a virtuous life
While you dragged me down;
Ever you flung false accusations
And projected your own vices
Upon my ever stainless soul.
You averred that I was a villain
While you performed vile deeds.
You declared that I was the devil
While you acted in evil ways.
You treated me like a criminal
While you committed many crimes.
You depicted me as despicable
While you behaved deplorably.
You deemed me to be wicked
While you wallowed in wrongness.
You proclaimed me to be sinful
While you reveled in sundry sins.
In truth, who was the villain?
Not I!
