Fantasy Poem "Dialogue Between a Selkie and a Smitten Mortal"
Dialogue Between a Selkie and a Smitten Mortal
By Richard H. Fay
“Selkie, shed your skin and become my bride.”
“Mortal, I will always yearn for the ocean wide.”
“Selkie, I can give you a home warm and snug.”
“Mortal, upon my heart the waves will ever tug.”
“Selkie, I can offer a bride price of great wealth.”
“Mortal, a life mundane will threaten my health.”
“Selkie, I refuse to ever bid you a sad goodbye.”
“Mortal, bound as a human wife, I will surely die.”
