Fantasy Poem "Global Warming and the Yeti"

Here's a poem from my out-of-print poetry collection with a concept that exists in both verse and prose versions. I've previously shared the prose version, my drabble called "The Abominable Snowman Snowless". The poem is entitled "Global Warming and the Yeti".

Background of above image a digital manipulation of image by lutz obtained from Pixabay.

Global Warming and the Yeti

With his treasured snowfields melting
And cherished glaciers retreating,
The Abominable Snowman
Of the highest Himalayas
Faced an identity crisis.

With no drifts to wander around,
Or rugged ice to roam across,
He could not remain a snowman
And leave behind those baffling tracks
To flummox those foolish humans.

With sadly dejected frowning,
And rather pathetic sobbing,
The hairy beast pondered his plight.
The thought of just fading away
Twisted his gut into tight knots.

Then he got a brilliant notion.
He donned a broad hat and long coat,
Booked a flight to Miami,
And moved next door to his cousin,
The Skunk Ape of the Everglades.
