Poem "Growing Older"

 

Here's an appropriate poem to share today...

Growing Older

The spring has gone from my step.
The gleam has dimmed in my eyes.
The gold has faded from my hair.

Age has crept in on me,
Extinguishing the fires of youth,
Though a few embers still glow.

My mind remains sharp.
My sight remains clear.
My heart remains strong.

Death has drawn nearer,
No longer feared as in my youth,
Though not yet a welcome friend.

I still have things to do.
I still have thoughts to share.
I still have some time left,

Hopefully.
